The Principals
Kelly Shuck – President
Kelly started her journey in the agriculture business 25 years ago with Farmers Marketing Corporation/Seeds West, Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona as part of the sales and marketing team that brought to market the 1st improved seeded bermudagrass and introduced the 1st seeded hybrid bermudagrass. In 1997 Kelly took her wealth of warm season knowledge to Seed Research of Oregon/ProSource One as territory manager, where she worked closely with Golf Course Superintendents to develop overseeding alternative programs specific to the needs of the individual golf course. She also established the Bentgrass Users Group, a very successful cooperative discussion group between golf course superintendents. Kelly founded Arizona Seed Technology, Inc. in 2003 to provide the agriculture industry with an honest, more personal approach to their seed needs.
Helen Lucas Cauthen – Vice President
Helen has over 35 years experience in warm and cool season turf and forage grasses. Helen began her career with Valley Seed Company in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1985 Helen was asked to become Vice President of newly founded Farmers Marketing Corporation. She continued in that capacity when they merged to become Seeds West, Inc. She was instrumental in taking the 1st improved turf type bermudagrasses to a global market. In 1997 as Vice President, she added to the successful cool season recognition of Seed Research of Oregon by creating their warm season division, specializing in improved turf type grasses and marketing to global distributors. In 2009, Helen joined forces with her sister Kelly at Arizona Seed Technology, Inc. to expand into the international market.
